I am headed to Miami weekly for the next few weeks and have the Magic City on my mind. #305
Do you know how Miami became known as ✨The Magic City✨?
This nickname dates back to the early 20th century when Miami transformed from a small settlement to a bustling city almost overnight, thanks to the development boom and the extension of the Florida East Coast Railway to the region. The rapid growth was so astonishing that it seemed as if the city had appeared by magic. Today, “The Magic City” is used to describe Miami’s continual reinvention and its ability to attract people from all over the world with its magical allure.
Dive deeper into Miami history with a visit to HistoryMiami Museum, perhaps? (https://historymiami.org/exhibition/miami-the-magic-city/) You know I love a good festival as a reason to book a trip and there are few more fun for lovers of food and wine than the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival coming up 2/20-2/23. I had the great pleasure last year to have a dear friend gift me tickets to the event of my choice and you know I picked the Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte 🍾 event at Hutong Restaurant. We had an absolute blast and it is such a fun opportunity to enjoy the best of the best in the culinary world. Fun fact: the fried chicken and champagne dinner is ALWAYS one of the most popular of the entire weekend. Let me know if you need help booking your Food and Wine Fest trip!
